The emotion of grief can come in five stages, including denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and finally, acceptance. And while these emotions can be complicated enough on their own, it gets that much more confusing when an individual goes through all of them and not always in a forward way.

After a loved one has passed on and the cremation services in Royal Oak, MI, have been scheduled, the individuals affected may need some extra support, so here’s more information on why choosing a Funeral Home that offers grief counseling is essential.

Gaining Insight

Grief can be an emotional state that feels exhausting for some and hard to navigate, especially if an individual has never been through a loss before. One aspect of speaking to an outside source about an individual’s emotional experience is that it can shed light on different parts of the experience that can offer some clarity. An individual who is not grieving but understands the grief process can offer an outside perspective to help the individual refocus on the situation and potentially offer self-care options.

Offering Compassion

Another reason to seek out a company that offers grief support is that it provides a sense of compassion and empathy for the individual in pain. Some individuals might feel like they shouldn’t have the experience they are and end judging themselves or others, so having someone sit with them and offer compassion around the experience can help with healing.

Hope and Understanding

And one more reason to consider speaking to a grief counselor who works directly with the funeral home is that they go through this process regularly. They work with people sometimes daily to help them through the experience. This means that they see individuals from the start of grief and potentially through the process of grief, which means there is hope that it does pass and move on.

In addition to this, having someone who understands how excruciating the pain can be can make a difference because it allows the grieving individual to feel understood. Having someone be present for this experience that has been through it and knows it and healed can offer hope that the difficulty can get easier as time goes by.cremation services in Royal Oak, MI
