In a best-case scenario, when a loved one passes away, they will already have preplanning in place, so the family members do not have to decide about the funeral. But in a lot of cases, this does not take place, and it can feel confusing to try to work through the emotions while at the same time trying to plan the services. Once an individual begins looking at funeral homes in Berkley, MI, it can be highly beneficial to get more thoughtful details, and here are some suggestions.

What Would Your Loved One Appreciate?

The first thing you can include is any wishes that your loved one wanted or details about the function they may have approved of. In some cases, individuals may have some information written down or have expressed through conversations on suggestions about the event. If this is not available, consult with other people to see if they have any input.

Personalize the Details

The small details can make all the difference, so taking the time to personalize the casket, urn, and decorations can be beneficial. Choosing color schemes or hobbies can also enhance the overall experience, and it might offer some insight for others to know the individual better from it. This is one of the reasons why you need to plan a funeral.

Have Someone Close to the Loved One Give the Eulogy

If there is someone that knew the individual well and they were close friends or family, you might consider having them give the eulogy. This can create a heartfelt and warming expression of love for the deceased with favorite stories or memories that they can share with everyone.

Play Music Your Loved One Enjoyed

If the individual enjoyed a specific kind of music, it could be beneficial to play this at the function. A lot can be said about the type of music an individual listens to, and it can promote a sense of healing and connection for everyone involved.

Offer Memorial Trinkets to the Attendees

In some cases, people will create a simple token for attendees to take home, like a memorial token. This could be anything from a token representing a threat of the individual two ordering a treat they enjoy, such as a piece of chocolate. There are many great ideas available online and multiple companies that specialize in creating these tokens for funeral services.
